Hello and welcome to my amazing journey! I am Shereka McLain and I have trained, played, or coached in the volleyball world for as long as I can remember. I have over 20+ years of experience and enjoy developing mentally dominating players. I pride myself on building well rounded young ladies on and off the court. I choose to use volleyball as the tool to reach and teach strong foundations of life. I was blessed to start Francis Marie Thomas VB Association in honor and memory of my extraordinary Mother, who I unexpectedly lost to Pancreatic Cancer in 2012; thus, the reason we proudly wear Purple. God has blessed me to help nearly 50 girls to receive scholarships to continue to play in college and although a huge accomplishment, I have so much more to give to our future. I am excited about this new adventure and proud to be a part of such an amazing program with the same beliefs and core values for the athletes! Buckle up, because we are just getting started. I am honored, excited, and PROUD to have such an AMAZING program working alongside a staff with the same beliefs and core values for our athletes!

Susan Truss has been an administrator and coach since 2013. She loves the sport of volleyball, but more than her love for volleyball, she loves the interaction with players and their families. “As administrator and assistant coach, I work closely with families and players which develops a loving, long-lasting relationship. It’s an indescribable joy to see positive results of the hard work and sacrifices made throughout the season.” Mrs. Susan has been employed as the Tax Coordinator/Roving Civil Court Coordinator in Jefferson County for 26 years. She is the proud mother of 2, Japera- a registered nurse and Zion, who serves in the US Navy. Mrs. Susan love her her life is her 2 year old grandson, Silas, (Japera and husband Travis) a baby boy. Married to Larry Truss for 20 years.

Desiree' Gallow, salutatorian of Ozen High School, earned her bachelor's degree in accounting from McNeese University and a master's in education from Lamar University. She began her coaching career at West Orange Stark High School in 2014 and currently coaches track, gymnastics, and volleyball at Beaumont United High School.

Desiree' believes that sports prepare individuals for future success, instilling character, drive, and resilience. She is married and a proud mother of two, with one child playing for the FMTVA Chiefs this season.

Nayla Bazile is a dedicated volleyball coach with six years of competitive playing experience and two years of coaching with the FMTVA Chiefs. She emphasizes teamwork, skill development, and fostering a positive environment where players can grow. Returning this year as the 16U Teal Coach, Nayla's goal is to inspire confidence and a love for the game in each of her athletes.

On a personal level, I am married with three daughters and two bonus kids. In my leisure time, I enjoy traveling with my youngest daughter, who plays competitive soccer.
